Positive: The location, views and sound of the roaring waves are absolutely amazing. The flat is very spacious with all mod cons. Great restaurants just steps away. Ample street parking. Access from street level is via only 4 steps (great for anyone with mild mobility issues).

Negative: Unfortunately, in our case, our holiday was marred by a cockroach infestation 😩 and smelly drains in the middle bedroom ensuite bathroom. There were other smaller issues too (maintenance-linked) but these two greatly impacted on our ability to enjoy our holiday (a) because for a lot of the time we couldn’t use the kitchen for all the cockroaches and the same applied to one of three bedrooms and bathrooms for the nauseating smell and (b) because we spent such a long time on holiday talking to booking.com on phone, texting agents, texting maintenance, coordinating/hosting house visits for a fumigation, then the replacement of the rusty, cockroach-infested dishwasher… It was endless… We were on our last day offered by the owner a 15% discount as compensation. Although small compared to the problems experienced we accepted. I don’t normally write damaging reviews, this place would have been an absolute paradise, but I am not sure they realised just how impacted our holiday was by issues that maintenance should have picked up and dealt with before our arrival and neither did they provide any assurance that they will deal with these and stay on top of them for the benefit of their guests in future. Congratulations to booking.com for all their assistance — and thanks to the agents too for always trying to mediate.
