LOCALLY - there are 2 small convenience stores / shops, 3 hairdressers, a barber, famous bakery, butcher & the famous El Frenazo restaurant (locals visit from all over the island). TIP - set this as a marker on maps as everyone Canarian knows it.
The holiday home rental in Icod sleeps up to 10 is at 700m altitude and there is very little between it and the peak of the Mount Teide (20km away - see photos).
The closest beach is a 10 minute drive to San Marcos. Impressive location, volcanic beach, lifeguard, standard tourist shops & restaurants. Other beaches + the natural pools are 15 minutes + (we highly recommend the pools located in Icod + San Juan de la Rambla).
FOOD - as you're taking the whole house you have access to every where. The kitchen is fully equipped as is the BBQ on the terrace.
We can also recommend the best restaurants, but we can also cater. Prices on request.
Tips at restaurants are normally only rounded to the nearest Euro or 2. We typically tip 10% for great service.
CASA Salvia Icod is located in a rural part of Tenerife - 5 minutes drive from Icod. The motorway is also that close so it makes a perfect location to travel around the whole island. It therefore makes an ideal base for exploring locally, other parts of Tenerife + beyond (contact us for complimentary advice on island hopping).
You are able to go further North on the TF5 to San Juan de la Rambla (15 mins), Orotava & Commercial centro (20 mins), Puerto de la Cruz (25 minutes) & Santa Cruz (50 minutes). In the opposite direction you can travel along the NW coast to Garrachico (15 mins), Los Silos & Buenavista (25 mins). Some also use this coastal route to reach Masca.
The more crowded Las Americas & the other resorts in the South are accessed via Santiago del Teide. A beautiful car drive on the edge of Mount Teide National Park Tenerife. Expect a 45 minute drive to see lava tubes + lichen thriving in the clean air.
