Summary: The property owner Miguel met us in Valverde and we followed him, in our car, to the house. He was very helpful and explained the history of the house and showed us where to find the best walks on El Hierro. It was cold and windy when we arrived in February and, as the house is at an elevation over 1000m, it was cold inside. We thought the wood burning stove would soon warm us up but it was broken. There were 2 oil filled radiators which did slowly heat up the house if they were left on all night. This was disappointing for us as the website stated that the wood burning stove was available and this was a big reason for choosing the property. If we knew that the stove was not working we would have chosen another place and, if Miguel had put the radiators on before we arrived, our first night would not have been so cold. However, the weather did improve and the house stayed warm if we left the radiators on all the time. The terrace is really good with a lovely view and the house has a very nice garden, was spotless inside and very comfortable.
