Positive: Spent the two-week Christmas holidays here with my wife. The place was perfect for us! We stayed in studio apartment "Benito" in the small Doña Elida complex of holiday homes. The apartment is ideal for a couple: comfy bed, enough space, decent kitchen and fridge with freezer compartment so we could do most of our own cooking, good heating / airco which works quickly, a friendly and always helpful host lady, and a gorgeous terrace with views on sea and mountain. TV is awful (standard Spanish and German satellite TV), but there's decent wifi on the premises. It's really relaxed and quiet. The location on the hill in El Paso was very practical to explore this wonderful island; most attractions like hiking trails, pretty little neighboring towns, beach, airport etc were within less than a half-hour drive, or even reachable by walk. Shops are close by and open all day most days. We recommend renting a car at the airport to get around easily, and the island is well worth a longer stay than just a quick visit.

Negative: Ventilation could be improved a little since the bathroom cell just ventilates into the main room itself. An insect screen on at least one of the windows could be helpful when cooking with the lights on. Not a big problem though. Another thing that's maybe good to mention (and which has nothing to do with either the place or our host) is that the automated emails after booking which came from the intermediary organization Belvilla were an absolute mess; ten times the same email in different languages, and when we tried to actually communicate about our later arrival time, they'll just send you the same mass email back with no actual answer. So we just waited till our host lady contacted us directly through whatsapp just before we left for La Palma, and everything was sorted out quickly, but all the automated garbage emails by Belvilla after booking were unfortunately pretty useless.
