Summary: Just back from a two week family holiday in this home from home with fantastic outdoor space and views. The house is fully equipped with every convenience including a large capacity fridge/freezer, plenty of pots, pans, dishes, glasses, cutlery etc. The outdoor spaces and pool are fantastic and include a shaded dining area. Outside there are 7 sun loungers, 7 recliners, 7 outdoor dining seats and 3 patio tables. I counted 15 bath towels plus several hand and pool/beach towels also. Changes of bed linen were left in the wardrobes and there is a handy large covered patio with a number of clothes lines when such items have to be washed. The house was clean and comfortable, albeit a little old fashioned but old fashioned doesn’t bother me as long as it’s clean and it works. All bedrooms had ceiling fans, mirrors and dressing tables. There was also a tower fan in one of the bedrooms and we bought a second one in the local ferretería. Access instructions were very easy to follow. When I informed Tara our departure flight was a late one she readily offered us the use of the house for as long as we liked as she did not have people checking in that day. We were so grateful as it meant we didn’t have to hang around in 30 degree heat! The location is fantastic – only a short walk to either Los Gigantes or to Puerto Santiago. There are 2 large supermarkets within walking distance and a large Mercadona within a few minutes drive. Alcala and San Juan are nice places to visit within a short drive also. So, why 4.5 instead of 5 for this property? There are a few small issues in the bathrooms – the interior workings of the toilet cisterns don’t seem to shut off the flow when the cistern is full which means there is a small flow of water constantly going into the toilet – so perhaps replacing the plastic interiors would fix this? The tap in the twin room leaked at the base so we had to put a face cloth around it. The junk in the garage and downstairs cupboards needs to be cleared out.. this area is not part of the living area but still. Since we had a large 7 seater car we were not sure if it would fit so we just parked it in the courtyard. Did these small things affect our holiday? Not at all. We had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend and return ourselves. BTW calima can cover a spotless patio, pool, windows and outdoor furniture in a very short time as we experienced ourselves during our stay!
