Enjoy this beautiful part of France with so many interesting towns to visit. Your stay will be in a 400 year old farmhouse overlooking the peaceful village of Calès, 4 kilometres from Lalinde on the Dordogne river. The village is right in the centre of the Dordogne region, which offers so much to see and do: famous towns to explore; chateaux to marvel at; vineyards for wine tasting and a wide choice of recreational activities such as cycling (bikes can be hired in Lalinde), kayaking on the river close by in Limeuil, voted one of the prettiest villages in France, and Tremolat, just a couple of miles away where there is a Michelin starred restaurant to experience! ! Or just relax with a leisurely game of boules down on our village green. The house is reserved exclusively for you own use so you have your own front door and key to come and go as you please. Your holiday house is over two floors. On the first floor there is a large sitting room with a dining table to seat 8 people. There is a king-sized bedroom on this floor together with a twin-bedded room and a well-equipped kitchen. On the second floor there are two further bedrooms, a queen-sized bedroom and one twin. There are newly fitted shower rooms to serve each floor. Outside, you will find a lovely swimming pool for your exclusive use and plenty of space for sitting out and enjoying 'al fresco' dining - BBQ on hand if needed! On the first floor there is a large sitting room with a dining table to seat 8 people. There is a king-sized bedroom on this floor together with a twin-bedded room and a well-equipped kitchen. On the second floor there are two further bedrooms: a queen-sized bedroom and a twin. There are newly fitted shower rooms to serve each floor. Sorry, but no pets. Outside, you will find a lovely heated swimming pool with secure fencing for your exclusive use and plenty of space for sitting out and enjoying 'al fresco' dining! A BBQ is available for your use.

Lalinde is an ancient bastide town founded in 1261, the first of the English bastides to be built. France being famous for its cuisine, there are plenty of excellent restaurants to be found in villages close by. For example, just a couple of miles away is Trémolat with its Michelin-starred restaurant. The rivers of the Dordogne and the Vézère are good for kayaking or simply messing about on the beach. There are so many places for walking and cycling starting from the village.
There is parking for two cars at the property, but free parking is also available just below the house in the village. There is no bus service from the village, but my neighbour has a very useful taxi business! However, there is a train station in Lalinde with direct services to Bordeaux and nearby Libourne for the regular TGV train to Paris. The historic town of Bergerac and its airport is just 20 kilometres away from Calès.
