Salobreña Old Town Duplex: Stylish, Comfortable & Peaceful. | House in Salobreña
2 Bedroom House in Salobrena, Salobreña
Built in the 1960s in a sought-after lower area of Salobreña's old town, surrounded by Spanish neighbours, the house is unusually spacious for its location — bright, well-proportioned, and approximately 75 sqm. It's just a 15-minute walk (600 metres) to the seafront and 5 minutes to the town centre, where you'll find a local market, large supermarkets, banks, and shops.
The property sits on a particularly quiet cul-de-sac with no traffic noise, and there's car access right to the front door at street level.
Everything is included so you can simply relax: kitchen utensils, WiFi, bed linen, towels, essentials, and of course impeccable cleaning.
The house is arranged over two floors connected by two sets of stairs, conveniently separating the living and sleeping areas.
On the entry floor, the staircase leads to a large open-plan kitchen, living room, and terrace. The terrace faces south-east and catches the sun from morning until well into the afternoon, while also providing shelter from the local winds — which keeps the indoor temperature mild and pleasant all year round. White laminate floors, original stone walls, a large corner sofa, vintage table and lamps, air conditioning and heating, mood lighting, books, fibre WiFi, a 65-inch smart TV… even an original school blackboard.
Downstairs, two comfortable air-conditioned bedrooms overlook a quiet pedestrian street, alongside a metro-tiled bathroom with an extra-large shower and a separate toilet. If you're travelling with young children, safety gates can easily be fitted to the stairs. With a queen-size bed (150 cm) and two single beds (90 cm), the house sleeps up to 4 guests. A baby cot is also available.
A car isn't essential, but it's recommended for exploring nearby towns and beaches. Parking is generally available at the end of the street and on the parallel road, Ladera de La Cruz. During peak season (summer, Easter, and Christmas) it can take a little longer, so I'd suggest heading to the lower part of town, near the Auditorium and Police Station, just down the nearby steps. The number 2 bus runs from the modern part of Salobreña through the old town, past Al Salam, and all the way up to the castle.
As a Spaniard who spends most of my time in London, Salobreña has everything I look for when I return home: authenticity, great weather, fresh food, tapas, and beautiful surroundings. Back in 2005 I started looking for a townhouse with potential, and eventually found this one. Since then, I've been enjoying turning it into a comfortable, safe, spacious, and stylish holiday home. The last major renovation was in April 2019, when I installed wooden flooring in the living room — but I'm always making small improvements.
You've guessed it: this isn't a beach apartment or a villa with a pool, but rather a charming townhouse where you can feel part of local life. A privileged base from which to explore the Costa Tropical, a quiet place to work from, and a safe retreat after a day out.
We're waiting for you. ¿Vienes? (Are you coming?)
